Katharina Willi is a young Swiss Soprano based in Biel, Switzerland.
She is currently studying in her second Master's degree under the tutelage of Tanja Ariane Baumgartner at Hochschule der Künste Bern. In the season 2023/24 she is portraying Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte at Bühnen Bern under the musical direction of Artem Lonhniov. She further recorded and contributed to a production of Samson by Joachim Raff, where she debuted as Frau vom Volke under the direction of Philippe Bach.
In the season 2022/23, Katharina Willi was part of the Swiss Opera Studio and debuted in several roles at Bühnen Bern, such as Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Ortlinde in Die Walküre, La Bergère und La Chauve-Souris in L'enfant et les sortilèges, Diane and Première Pretresse in Iphigénie en Tauride and Carmillas Mutter in Carmilla oder das Zeitalter der Vampire. She has worked with various conductors, such as Nicholas Carter, Sebastian Schwab, Thomas Rösner and Hans-Christoph Bünger.
In the course of her career, Katharina Willi participated in many projects and concerts. A few highlights include the Christmas Concerts 2019/2021 with the Musikkollegium Winterthur conducted by Kevin Griffiths, the world premiere of the music and dance performance Obsession by the young Swiss composer David Eliah Bangerter in 2020 and her participation in the Gstaad Menuhin Festival 2021 as a soloist in the Atelier Gwunderkind.
